Damon Hill has rejected Fernando Alonso's claim that Formula One is being unfair to Max Verstappen. Alonso had told Mundo Deportivo: "Max Verstappen is the best driver on the grid and this year he's going to finish fifth or sixth. I don't know if F1 is a bit unfair in that sense. But there's no need to waste time explaining to people who don't want to understand." Hill's answer, posted to his Instagram story, was blunt: "What a load of rubbish! I strongly disagree with FA here." Verstappen sits seventh in the championship, 103 points behind leader Kimi Antonelli, and is still without a win in 2026 after spinning out at Stowe at Silverstone.
